The aim of the school is to promote the development of the personality of its pupils in all ways and to create possibilities for social development and working in cooperation. Good manners, respect for work at school and taking the responsibility for oneself and the others are highlighted in the educational goals of the school.

In learning we try to promote the abilities to question and discuss, willingness to be interested, to collect information and to analyse it.

The basis of the educational work at school is a positive idea on the human being. The school must give sufficient basic knowledge and skills for the studying at the secondary school. The school must be a place where it is pleasant and encouraging to study.

We stress the spirit of working together in an open atmosphere. Our school is as good as we want it to be.

Annual festivities and celebrations, different themes and the highlights of the year are worked out together.

We have cooperation with other institutions working for educational and teaching goals.

The easternmost municipality in Finland and in the EU give the curriculum and the whole work at school a distinctive feature.
