Report from 71 Primary School, October 2006
As in the past school year, our school has entered Championships for Primary
Schools in Lodz. More than ninety schools will compete in different sports
in the whole school year. The first events were Relay Races in Cross Country
Running.
On 3rd October our school team of athletes, consisting of 15 boys and 15
girls, age 11-13 competed with nine other primary school teams from the district
Lodz- Baluty in cross country running. Each runner had to cover the distance
of 800 meters in one of the city parks. The girls won the second position,
while the boys the third one and both qualified for the final of Lodz.
The final was held on 12th October in another city park. Fourteen best in
their districts teams of girls took part in the races. Our girls wre the
second and received silver medals and the cup for our school. They will run
in the next voivodship stage.
Our boys received the 8th position- there were 16 teams of boys that competed.
Our school runners had number ’3’.
