News From Szkola Podstawowa Nr 71 - March 2006
| March was a very busy month in sports and games for our
pupils and PE teachers.
- On Saturday morning, 4th March, teams from three primary schools met in our school gym to compete with each other in the first stage of the tournament of games called ‘5 Million Cup Competition’. Each school was represented by a group of 36 girls and boys in three age categories. The pupils competed in row races that were testing their physical abilities and speed at the age level of 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12. Our school team was the best of the three and was qualified to the next stage. The whole event was designed and organized by our PE teachers. - On Tuesday, 21st March, to celebrate the first day of spring, all
the pupils from classes IV-VI from our school took part in the School
Spring Tournament. Classes at the same age level competed with each
other. The 11- year old children in row races, the 12-year old ones
played the hit-out game, while the oldest, uni hockey matches. The
best classes at each age level were awarded. |

| From Wednesday to Friday, 22nd-24th March, boys from our school played basketball matches in the final tournament of the Primary School Championships of Lodz and reached the fourth place. | ||

| On 27th March, the team of girls age eleven, played in the basketball tournament for the local housing estate ‘Teofilow’, where our school is situated. The girls were competing with the teams from three other schools in the neighbourhood and won, reaching the first place and the cup. The girls were very pleased with the atmosphere of the event. | ||
