The Child’s Day we celebrated in a sports way

On 1st June we had a fete in our school ground. Our PE teachers have adopted and presented some of the European games that we learned from our project partners. Classes at the same age level competed with each other in the Italian games such as Bowls, Hot Potato or Numbers, Finnish Skittles and Spanish Bottle Caps. The children enjoyed the games very much. The best classes were awarded.

   

Athletic Tournament

On 8th and 9th June girls and boys from our school took part in inter-school competition, organised by 55 Primary School in Lodz, to celebrate their patron, famous Polish athlete, E. Lokajski. Each competitor had to run 60m and 600m, jump, run and throw a palant ball. On the first day 60 girls from 10 schools competed with each other, while on the second, 72 boys from 12 primary schools. Our boys representation received the fifth position among other schools. One of our boys was the second in running the distance 600m.

 

School Championship in Football

To celebrate the World Cup in Football our PE teacher organised the School Championships in Football for Vth grade and VIth grade boys. Six teams played fiercely against each others. The results that they received were: team fromVIa-the first, from Va-the second, from VIb- the third. The boys were decorated with the medals during the School Year Ending Celebration.

Semi Final Tournament of Games

On Wednesday morning, 31st May, teams from three primary schools [11 PS, 174 PS and ours] that had won their elimination groups, met in our school gym to compete with each other in semifinal tournament of games called ‘5 Million Cup Competition’. The previous stage took place in March. A group of 36 girls and boys at three age categories competed in row races, completing different tasks that were assessed and scored by judges. The results achieved by each age group were added to give the final result for the whole school. Our school team won the tournament gaining 30 points and was qualified for the next part.

Tasks for the youngest [7-8 year old children]:

Tasks for 9-10 year old children:

They tied sashes around the hurdle or untied them
They hid tennis balls under the cones or collected them

Hopping children dropped two towels into the hoops or collected them
They carried the plates with a table tennis ball on them, and then took the basketball from the ring and bounced it for a certain distance

Tasks for the oldest children [11-12 years old]:

They ran with two table tennis balls on the plate around the mattress, then under the hurdle and finally around the traffic cone They jumped above the bench,

Athletic Triathlon

On 12th and 13th June our ten year old children took part in Athletics Competition. In this Triathlon both girls and boys competed in three different events, running 40m, throwing a palant ball and jumping long jump.
Our girls team achieved the second position among the girls, while boys the seventh one. The children were extremely happy, especially the girls, as for most of them it was the first medal in their life. One of our girls, Pola from class IIIa, was the second among all the girls that participated in the meeting.
