Volleyball Tournaments for Girls
After the District Eliminations, that had been organized in January, our school team of girls was qualified for Semifinal Tournaments of Lodz with 15 other teams from the whole city.
The teams were divided into groups of four. The tournament in which our team played was held in our school, on 20thFebruary. The girls played against the teams from Primary Schools numbers: 4, 36 and 38 and won all the matches. In this way the team was one of the four that played in the Final Tournament of Lodz. The Final Tournament was held in the Sports Hall, on 23rd February. The other teams were from Primary Schools numbers: 3, 70 and 91.
All the teams were playing on similar level, so had to play three sets. The final scores were very close to each other. Our girls won with 91 Primary School with the result 2:0, but lost two other matches ( 2: 1). Finally they reached the third position and bronze medals after 70 Primary School, the winner of the whole tournament, and 3 Primary School that gained the silver medals.
It was the first time when our school team of girls managed to get to the finals of Lodz in volleyball, so both the girls and their PE teacher were very proud.
