‘Little Olympics’
Our PE teachers have been asked to organize a sport event for the ending of interschool programme ‘Discovering Sport of Our Life’. Ninety – six children from twelve district primary schools took part in the event, called ‘Little Olympics’. Each school was represented by eight pupils from classes IV-VI, four girls and four boys. After the opening speech, given by our school head, all the competitors swore to play fair and then competed in the row relay races . They had to cover a limited distance and complete a lot of tasks with different sports gear. They had to put the plastic rings onto the traffic cones placed on their lane or collect them, hide the tennis balls under the traffic cones or pick them up, crawl under a hurdle, carry a heavy ball and put it in a certain place, slalom a basketball. Children had to do the tasks in in the shortest possible time. Each school team had the time measured. The time decided about the final order. Our school team did very well and finished in the first place, while 91 PS in the second and 48 PS in the third one. The best teams received diplomas and congratulations from the organizers.
